Setting Up Network Printer Users

Network Printer Users are the users that connect to the Network printers through a Webservice Key.

[!NOTE] It' entirely possible to utilize a single user/client for all the communication to the network printers. Other users can utilize that client as well.

This article provides guidance for IT administrators on how to enter a Network Printer User.

Prerequisites​

In order to follow through with the driver installation, you need:

  1. A set up Business Central environment
  2. A network printer needs to be installed and reachable from the necessary Clients.

Network Printer User Setup​

  1. Navigate to the Business Central Search

  2. Search for Network Printer Users and open the page.

  3. Under User ID enter the user that will function as the user connecting to the Network Printers.

  4. Leave the field to automatically create a Webservice Key

    [!NOTE] After setting up a user here, it needs to be ensured that the Client Setup is deployed to the respective users client. In there, the created webservice key must be utilized.

Congratulations! You have created a Network Printer User that can take over the communication to the Network Printers.
